The challenge
thyssenkrupp operates in 60 countries with 104,000 employees across automotive, construction, mining and metals, chemicals, energy, aerospace, oil and gas and more.
Payroll across the MENA region had to satisfy one group standard while respecting seven different national rule sets.
Implementation began exactly as the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and the client's HR team had to turn to emergency measures first.
What gulfHR did
- gulfHR shaped the payroll platform around the client's specific requirements and its complex IT and security policies.
- The build met the group's ISO 20000 requirement for information security and privacy.
- Payroll was integrated into SuccessFactors, the group's existing worldwide human capital management system, rather than run alongside it.
- Delivery ran across the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait.
The results
Full delivery in five months
One hundred percent of the implementation completed for the first entity, covering four modules across five countries in the Middle East.
Built to the group's own standards
The platform met thyssenkrupp's IT and security policies rather than asking the group to bend to ours.
A customisation plan for self-service
An in depth plan was delivered to support employee self-service across the entity.
Rollout continues
The project carries on into implementations for two further business entities.
The gulfHR team was very accommodating and worked with our adjusted timelines, being flexible with that.
